Sowing Method:
Use a two-step stratification: warm 8–12 weeks at 68–77°F (20–25°C), then cold 8–12 weeks at 35–40°F (2–4°C).
After stratification, sow 1/2 in (1.3 cm) deep in a well-drained mix at 60–68°F (16–20°C); keep evenly moist with bright light.
Germination may be slow and irregular. Transplant seedlings gently; space 18–24 in (45–60 cm) when planting out after frost.
Full sun to partial sun; fertile, well-drained soil. Bloom typically occurs in the second to third growing season or later.
